Biography
Welcome West is a modern bluegrass band based out of Northern California’s central valley. The band came together in 2020 during the pandemic, through a local bluegrass jam started by band members Scott and Manny in Davis, CA. They played under the name Mandolin Manny with a carousel of members for a few years until a consistent lineup emerged. At this point, Manny no longer played mandolin and the solidified lineup of Cedar Cady, Scott Linford, Bill Dakin, and Manny Kaminer prompted the boys to come up with a new band name. Thus, Welcome West was officially born.
The band can be found playing breweries, bars, and small festivals around the Northern California region. At a Welcome West show, one can expect a wonderful bluegrass music experience featuring original songs, bluegrass standards, and classic favorites reimagined through a bluegrass lens. They set themselves apart from your standard local bar band as a cohesive unit that features virtuosic instrumentalists, tight vocal harmonies, and an engaging and interactive stage show.
